On Day 7 (人日) of CNY 2012, I played host and invited my close friends with their families over to my place for lunch. Quite a norm to do so and always the last stop is my place. We cooked some simple stuff and ordered some items.
A simple and yet enjoyable lunch... glad that my guests enjoyed it! So what's on the menu, enjoy!
Lo Hei

Popiah & Kueh Pie Ti Sets
Fortune Food (S) Pte Ltd - They deliver daily even during CNY. Very convenient especially for mini party and quite nice too. Minimun $50 order for free delivery.
The popiah was very well received and fun to DIY too.
Kueh Pie Ti was yummy too!
Condiments for Porridge
Mini abalone, pacific clam, slice topshell, shredded chicken, fried onion oil, spring onion and Chinese coriander.
Our signature dish...lol! Specially requested from my friends to cook this. We served this last year too and they enjoyed so much that they wanted it again.
Hainanese Chap Chye
Stir fry Chinese cabbage & carrot with fish maw, pork & asparagus clam.
Fried Chicken Wings
Some fried finger food for the kids. This my signature dish ... I call it anyhow seasoned also nice chicken wing...lol!
Fried Cuttlefish Balls
We always like cuttlefish balls from Seawaves.
Golden Crispy Banana & Chocolate Spring Rolls
The dessert of the day... A very simple to make snack like goreng pisang that everybody give a thumb up! I will be submitting this recipe to Aspiring Bakers #15 - Auspicious Dishes for CNY (Jan 12) hosted by me, Wen's Delight!
Recipe - Golden Crispy Banana & Chocolate Spring Rolls
Ingredients:
10 pcs Spring roll skin (large size)
5 nos Bananas
Some chocolate rice
Oil for deep frying
Cornstarch mixture (1 tbsp water mix with 1tsp cornflour)
Methods:
1. Each banana cut into half, slit open each of the half banana and sprinkle with chocolate rice. Wrap it up like a spring rolls. Seal it with cornstarch mixture.
2. Heat up oil to deep fry the rolls till golden.

Banana and choco spring roll... sounds like a signature dish ! and doesnt seem to difficult to make too... what a great idea...
