Penang Road Cafe

[Closed]
Penang cuisine is getting popular in Singapore as many Penang food cafe blooming up since last year. Penang Road Cafe located at Novena Ville is one of them. The menu is limited but highlighted most of the signature Penang dishes. We tried almost all the food items on the menu. The food are generally quite nice and my favourite goes to the Hokkien Prawn Mee.

Penang Assam Laksa - S$6.00

My family love this and find it quite authentic.

Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee - S$6.00

The broth is rich and flavourful. Portion not very big, can easily slurp up the whole bowl by myself. Ha... I'm not going to share this next time.

Char Kway Teow Seafood Special - S$9.90

Nice wok hei. Seafood special comes with squid and crab meat.

Char Kway Teow - S$6.00

The normal version is good enough. Next visit I will not pay another $4 more for the seafood special.

Chicken Nasi Lemak - S$6.00

This is available during the weekend only. The rice was cooked to the right texture with mild coconut fragrant served with rendang chicken, sambal ikan bilis and hard boiled egg. I love it.

Ju Hu Char - S$6.00 (S)

This is interesting! Popiah filling wrapped with lettuce instead of popiah skin. Simple but quite delicious!

Penang Lorbak - S$6.00

This is similar to wuxiang. In Penang is called lorbak.

Penang Rojak - S$5.50

Quite similar to our local version.

Chendol - S$3.00

Too full to try other dessert, so just had a Chendol to share. They serve Pulut Hitam and Ice Kacang too.

Penang Coffee - S$2.00
