Day 1 (Part I) - 25th Aug 2011
Meet up with my buddies at T1 for breakfast at Burger King before boarding. We were going by Air Asia and were glad that there were no delay which was quite prompt for budget air.
Singapore ~ Bali
Approximately 2 1/2 hour flight. Quite surprise that budget air gave out snack too. The sugar coated peanut was nice to munch. Upon arrival usually we will try to get some maps from the Tourist information counter especially on a free and easy trip. We had pre-arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport.

If going on free and easy, is advisable to book a driver, most of them are English speaking. This service was recommended by my colleague. The charges are very reasonable, approximately around S$30-$50 (Rp200k-350k) per day depending on where you plan to go. The cost shared among the 4 of us was about S$50 each for the 4 days trip. Our driver Wayan is a nice guy too and his vehicle Suzuki Apv Arena is quite new and clean. All you need is to email him for quotation before the trip. Give him details like number of days you are planning to stay, places that you wish to visit and the resort that you are staying.
Kuta, Bali
Kuta was one of the first fishing village to be developed into a tourist attraction town. Kuta is nearer to the airport. We decided to check out Kuta first upon arrival and had lunch here before we proceed to Ubud.
Beautiful long sandy beach at Kuta! The wave was amazing too and very good for surfiing.
Plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and hotels in Kuta. Quite similar to Patong in Phuket. If you like night entertainment, staying in Kuta will be the right choice.
There are quite a few sport apparels factory outlets in Kuta. And of course the 24 hrs Mini Mart and Cirle K can be found everywhere in Bali.
Next post coming up... Lunch at Malioboro Restaurant, Kuta Bali.
I love Bali!
