Song Fa Bak Kut Teh

7th Nov 2010

It was raining liked cats and dogs! The weather was so cooling, a perfect evening to have Bak Kut Teh for dinner. We had an enjoyable and satisfying dinner at Song Fa! Everythings seem to be exceptionally nice like comfort food, probably due to the cool weather.

Song Fa BKT located at New Bridge Road, occupied 2 units of the shop houses. One with aircon and the other one is more like a coffee shop. They mainly served Bak Kut Teh along with other side dishes. Main courses are priced from $5.00 and side dishes from $2 onwards, GST chargeable but no service charge. Services are fast and efficient! A great place for quick dinner.

Bak Kut Teh - S$5.00+

The soup was nice, peppery & flavourful. Two pieces of prime ribs and one piece of pork ribs were given. The ribs were tender and sweet tasting.

Pig's Kidney Soup - S$6.50+

Looks bloody but was my family's favourite. They like the crunchiness but personally I don't really like this part of the pig. I find it tasteless and sometimes quite gamey if it was not cleaned properly.

Braised Pig Trotters - S$5.50+

Well braised and the meat was so tender.

Braised Pig's Intestines - S$6.00+

Nice but the braised sauce was a bit salty.

Kailan in Oyster Sauce - S$5.50+

The oyster sauce made the vegetables so flavourful!

BKT Spice - S$2/pack

My aunt liked BKT very much so we bought 2 pkts of the spices back to try.
