Yuan Xiao Jie traditionally rounded off with another reunion dinner in my family. We had dinner at Canto Kitchen formerly known as Canton Wok by Chef Kang at Joo Chiat Road. I tried once long time ago but didn't find really good but this one at People's Park was highly recommended by my bestie Hwee so we decided to give it a go. The restaurant decor is very Hongkong style where I always see it in HK drama, metal frame red PVC chair with white cloth table and TV on the wall...don't you think so? Service staff is attentive and friendly. Prices are rather reasonable too with an extensive menu and the best of all is no GST & service charge! Overall we are quite satisfied with the food and I can see myself coming back again in the future.

Shark Fin with Crab Roe
Steamed Crab with Glutinous Rice
Steamed Cod Fish Head in Spicy Sauce
Herbal Roast Duck
A popular dish too. Nicely roasted and meat was well seasoned with herbal extracts. The sauce was nice, full of dongkui flavour!
Kailan with Fried Preserved Vegetables (meicai)
An unique way to serve kailan, sweet and savoury meicai complimented the crunchy saute kailan rather well.
Stewed Bee Hoon
The beehoon did not disappoint too. Light yet robust with flavour! Beehoon fried with prawns, scallop, salted fish bits & kailan stem, stewed with premium stock. This dish I love to try cooking at home.
Red Bean Paste with Tang Yuan
Since it's a reunion dinner, we had tang yuan for dessert.
Total we spend about S$140 plus for 5 persons and each cost less than S$30. We felt it was quite value for money!

If count base on dollar to dollar, the price is very cheap if compare to MY here. Look like you had a wonderful dinner.
So many tasty dishes!! I'd love to try that roast duck!
