Sakae Sushi

4/7/09

Last Saturday, we went to Sakae @ Toa Payoh for lunch. Sakae Sushi is a well developed chain of Sushi restaurants all over Singapore and Asia. Serving affordable and average Japanese food. We wanted something light so we had a sushi, salad and soup to share.

Salmon Oshi Sushi - S$8.99

The rice was too thick and salmon slice too thin. In between the thick chunk of rice was salmon mayo. But I like the bits of squid and roe on top.

Sakae Salad - S$7.99

The salad portion was big with 3-4 slices of thick salmon sashimi. Not bad but I don't like the plum sauce that came with it. So I requested to change to sesame dressing which went quite well too.

Spicy Hotate Kimuchi - S$7.99

This was a new item on the soup menu. Quite nice and spicy. It was filled with generous amount of vegetables. There are scallops, some fish cakes, golden mushroom, tofu, long cabbage, spinach & kimchi.
By the way, we only spend $10.50 on this meal as I have a $20 voucher.
