X'mas Day's dinner at Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant, we took up the DBS 1 for 1 VIP Premium set menu promotion at S$55++/pax.

Lobster Fresh Fruit Salad

2 slices of lobster served w/canned cocktail fruits and mayo. An expected dish so nothing special.

Braised Shark's fin Soup in Claypot

Quite a generous amount of fin in the flavourful and rich stock. Not bad.

Pan Fried King Scallop in Japanese Style

The king scallop was really big. I find it tasted like imitation scallop. I'm not sure... maybe was not!

Deep Fried Fish Fillet in Speciality Sauce

A thick cut of fillet nicely coated with crispy crumb and the inside was moist and juicy. The sauce was good too quite appetizing.

Whole Abalone w/Dumpling in "Ramen" Soup

This was the so called "whole abalone"! The type my aunt bought it from S&S to make porridge for us. The soup was too plain and noodles were very thick & tastless for my liking.

Bird Nest Egg Tart

This was yummy. The pastry was light and flaky that melt in your mouth with the smooth custard top w/some bird nest. Good!

Dessert of the day

Mango Pudding & Herbal Jelly

This was a side order not included in the set menu. The skin was crispy and nice. The duck meat we brought home instead of letting them stir fry as we were already too full.

The set menu was value for money if it's 1 for 1. Without the promotion, I don't think is worth it. Service was ok but they served too fast, never wait for us to complete 1 dish then served the next one. Until I complaint then they slow down.
