Post X'mas Dinner @ Home

27th Dec 09

It's has become a look forward X'mas Dinner @ home for my family since my first successful Roast Turkey dinner last year. This year we had a post dated X'mas dinner instead due to a few of us couldn't make it on the actual day. This year my cousin also came for the dinner which she missed it last year. Though it was tiring to whip up a meal like this but it's definitely worth it when I see everyone of my family members really enjoyed it. Most of the recipes were from Chef Yong's X'mas Workshops that I attended last year.

Mango & Prawn Salad w/Homemade 1000 Island Dressing

Simple and appetizing - Prawn, mango, assorted peppers & romaine lettuce with homemade dressing.

Garlic & Herb Bread

Lurpak butter w/lots of chopped garlic & English parsley spread on French loaf & toast till crispy. Yum...

Traditional Roast Turkey

This year I had learnt to serve it in a nicer way by cutting away the cartilage and assembly it back with just the breast, wings, drums & thigh. Homemade turkey is so yummy as the meat still remain juicy & tender.

Honey Glazed Champagne Ham

Bought the champagne ham from Cold Storage at S$34+, add in clove & glaze it with honey, baked till it caramelised. Serve it with bean stew. Another crowd pleaser too.

Homemade 1000 Island Dressing / Bean Stew to serve with ham / Red Wine Brown Sauce for Turkey / Cheese Sausage Stuffing

Not to forget the red wine brought over by my brother.

Molten Lava Chocolate Cake w/Vanilla Ice Cream

Same dessert as last year. Made this again because all of us like it. Did you see the lava? Lol!

Snow Jelly Dessert

Contributed by Aunt Peggy. Light and refreshing to clear our palates as the dinner came to an end.
