Assorted Buns

15th Nov 2010

After attending Valerie's Sweet Bread workshop, love it so much that I tried out the recipe the following week. Had a fun time shaping the breads but was rather tiring too to do one full recipe. Still need lots of practice in bread making and somehow find it more difficult than making cake.

Cream Cheese Cranberry Bun

Tuna Bread

Cheddar Cheese Sugar Roll

Wow. . What a great variety of nice home-bake bread. Tempt me to bake bread today too ;)

Wow! The buns looked so good! I must go and check out Valerie's workshops. I totally agree that baking buns are more tedious than baking cakes! Unfortunately I won't get sick of breads, but I will get sick of cakes, so can't bake too much cakes too!

Dear Wen,

The cream cheese bun were lately very popular in our office as one of our colleague used to run errand at Raffles MRT basement and bought us back the bun.

I love to have recipe. Can you kindly share the cream cheese bun recipe with us.

Best Regards

Nice buns you made, exactly the same like what bakery shop sold. I would like to have cream cheese cranberry bun .... hehehehe btw, I'm curious on how you bake this bun. Do you need to press something on the top, to get flat on both side?

Hi Jane, this bread workshop is worth attending. Do check it out.

Hi Christine, thanks for dropping by. Sorry this recipe cannnot be published as it's a workshop recipe. It's a promise to Valerie that I won't post any of her recipe on my blog.

Hi SSB, yes just need to email her. The 3 places where she always teach are The Serangoon CC, Cairnhill & Civil Service Club. Sometimes she also goes to Kebun Baru, Siglap and Bona Vista CC. Some of them are weekend classes.

Hi DG, you are right! After shaping the bread, place a tray over it while proving till to the oven for baking.

Hi! Wendy,
You had done a great job, your bread was nicely baked. Indeed you are right baking cake is much easier than bread.
For those who are interested to attend the workshop, Valerie has scheduled her next bread class at Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn on 19 Feb 11- Cranberry Cream Cheeese Bread (Ah Pian) and Asst Bread making (traditional old fashion cheese and Sugar topping bread and chilli tuna bread) $36.

Hi Wendy

Did you use a stand mixer to do the dough or follow what Val did, ie hand held mixer?

Thanks

Hi Irene,

I used a stand mixer (Kenwood chef) to do the dough. You attended the class too?
