Lenas @ Nex

29 June 2011

A farewell dinner for a colleague at Lenas @ Nex. Lenas is a family friendly restaurant under MOF that serve western food. The menu is quite interesting and extensive, from appetizer, soup, pasta, pizza, main course to dessert, under each section there are plenty of choices and combination. Even the set menu looks rather value for money too! You really have to be very decisive in ordering... lol! Everything on the menu looks appealing and it really takes sometimes to decide what to eat. We decided to go for ala carte and ordered 1 item from each section but we skipped pizza.

Cream of Mushroom Soup in Bread Bowl - S$8.90++

Crusty bread bowl with creamy mushroom soup! A comforting and soothing dish!

Tomato & Mushroom Bruschetta - S$7.00++

This is very appetizing, a great start for the meal.

Extravaganza Combo Platter with 2 Sides - S$41.80++

A combination of grilled king prawn, bbq pork ribs and roast chicken. For the sides, we chose potato wedges and parma fries. Prawns are forgetable but the ribs and chicken are nice! Tender and succulent!

Ham & Cheese Baked Rice - S$13.90++

Mozzarella baked rice in cream sauce with ham and cheese! Though a bit salty but I like it! Baked rice with lots of cheese and quality ham will never go wrong!

Aglio Olio with Ham - S$12.90++

Wow this is very spicy but shiok! Spagehetti was ala denta and nicely coated with garlic and olive oil fragrant.

Pesto Genevese with Chicken - S$13.90++

I'm a pesto lover! Again this did not disappoint! Classic blend of in house pesto sauce with diced chicken and cherry tomatoes topped with shaved parmesan cheese.

Grilled Salmon with Salsa Cruda - S$13.80++

This did not manage to impress and is definitely forgetable. Salmon tasted fishy and overcooked.

Banana Fritter and Chocolate Ice Cream - S$7.50++

I was very happy when I saw this on the menu but was disappointed that it was a tad too sweet and overdose of cinnamon powder. We ended up eating the ice cream only.

3 Scoops Ice Cream in Waffle Bowl - S$8.50++

This is safe choice! Honeydew, strawberry and chocolate ice cream.

Tiramisu & Strawberries - S$7.50++

Too moussy and seriously it really doesn't taste like tiramisu! Can give this a miss!

Overall the food is alright but dessert is disappointing except for the ice cream still acceptable. Given the extensive menu and reasonable pricing, I will definitely be back.
