Skinny Pizza

Skinny Pizza is always on my to try list and got to try it on one of my dinner date with Sharon! We waited for awhile to get a table but it was definitely worth the wait as we enjoyed the food.

The English Breakfast - The crust was very thin, crispy and crackling! Very different from the usual pizza. We liked it as its not as filling as the usual pizza. We can easily polish the whole pizza off.

Pietrasanta The Italian Restaurant

We had a very nice Italian dinner at Pietrasanta to celebrate one of my buddy, Hwee's birthday. Though the location is a bit out of the way for me but I always don't mind to travel far for good food! Thanks Lim for the recommendation!

Pietrasanta is a Tuscany style family restaurant that owned and operated by the Tuscan brothers. Giuseppe manages the restaurant and Chef Loris manages the kitchen. They strive to delight every customer with fresh, simple and delicious authentic homestyle Italian food. The ambience is relaxing, cosy and comfortable, like dining at home! Affordable and quality Italian food that makes you want to come back again and again.

Lenas @ Nex - Revisited

I wanted pasta and my family wanted some pizza so we ended up at Lenas where they have everything we crave for ... Lenas offer lots of choices on the menu and we decided to go for the value for money family feast B for 4 pax at $68.00++. Overall the food is not bad, check out my last visit too.

We started off with Garlic bread which was not included in the set. This was good! Crispy french bread with generously spread with garlic butter. Yum!

Lenas @ Nex

29 June 2011

A farewell dinner for a colleague at Lenas @ Nex. Lenas is a family friendly restaurant under MOF that serve western food. The menu is quite interesting and extensive, from appetizer, soup, pasta, pizza, main course to dessert, under each section there are plenty of choices and combination. Even the set menu looks rather value for money too! You really have to be very decisive in ordering... lol! Everything on the menu looks appealing and it really takes sometimes to decide what to eat. We decided to go for ala carte and ordered 1 item from each section but we skipped pizza.

Cream of Mushroom Soup in Bread Bowl - S$8.90++

Crusty bread bowl with creamy mushroom soup! A comforting and soothing dish!

La Forketta @ Dempsey

Just back from Phuket on Monday and was sicked for 2 days, down with a very bad flu and fever. Recovering after resting for 2 days and will be starting work tomorrow. However I had an enjoyable trip, a real good break and will be updating my adventures in Phuket soon. Let's me now continue with my backlog.

27th Aug 2010

Another one of my buddy's birthday again, we took a half day leave to have a lady's day out. This seem to be our trend this year. We planned a series of activities for J and of course include some little surprise for her. We started off with a late lunch at La Forketta @ Dempsey recommended by J, the birthday girl.

The Italian restaurant is very spaciously and cosily furnished. Offering al fresco and indoor dining. It was rather quiet on a weekday afternoon, with only 2 tables taken up including us. We ordered a four course meal to share among the 3 of us as J said their portion was pretty huge and we wanted a light lunch since we were going for buffet dinner later. The food quality was pretty good and we were quite satisfied with it though it was quite an expensive lunch.

Bread Basket - S$4.50++

Once seated, the waitress offered us a basket of warm bread and we happily munching it without knowing that it was chargable. The bread was a bit dry and if we knew it was chargable, we definitely do without it.

Parma Ham Salad - S$19.00++

The salad and parma ham were very fresh with light vinaigrette and olive oil dressing. We enjoyed it very much.

Mussel Soup - S$25.00++

The mussels were cooked in garlic, parsley and white wine served with toast. So sweet tasting and appetizing. I like it very much.

Roast Pork - S$35.00++

Our main course was this deliciously roasted pork with garlic and herbs served with roasted sweet potato. The skin was crackingly crispy and the meat was well seasoned and leaned but tender. Overall was nicely done up.

Tiramisu - S$11.00++

The tiramisu was impressive and one of the best I have so far in restaurant. The macarphone cheese was so delightfully light and fluffy with well soaked liquor sponge finger. A must try for tiramisu lover.

Amici Authentic Italian Restaurant

23th Oct 2009

After class at Shermay's, met up with my friends for dinner at Holland Village. We had no idea what to have for dinner and landed ourselves in this Italian restaurant at the back lane of HV. The restaurant is quite small and cramp with very dim lighting. It was almost full house when we went in at about 7pm. All of us ordered pasta, thought it will be good since it was an authentic Italian restaurant... but was not good enough to impress and earn a return visit.

Frito Ai Calamari - S$12.90

Deep fried squid served with greens. This was nice, the squid was soft and tender coated with crispy and flavourful batter.

Pane All'aglio (5pcs) - S$4.90

Traditional Italian toasted garlic bread. Just normal.

Crema Di Fungi - S$7.90

Wild mushroom cream soup. Not bad, very generous with the mushrooms & herbs. My friends liked it but too thick for my liking.

Linguine Di Gamberi Al Sugo Di Pomodoro - S$25.90

Crayfish and assorted seafood with linguine served in spicy tomato basil sauce. This was recommended by the waitress. J had this and she think it was quite nice. I tasted some and felt that the pasta was too soft and overcooked but the sauce was appetising and flavourful.

Spaghetti Nero Di Calamari E Merluzzo - S$20.90

Pasta with squid ink served with 2 tiny pieces of fried cod and some squid rings. This was my order. Again, the pasta was not al-dente and the sauce lack richness. Maybe it will be nicer if I add some pamersan cheese which I forgotten. It just couldn't motivate me to finish all of it.

Fettuccine Alla Russa - S$19.90

Fettuccine with smoked salmon and caviar served in vodka cream sauce. H's order as she always liked cream sauce. The fettuccine was too overdone. Really very soft and almost soggy after soaking in the cream sauce for awhile. However, credit had to be given to the sauce. It was really tasty and they were generous with the smoke salmon too.

Tiramisu - S$10.90

With DBS credit card promotion, we only paid S$1.00 for it. Super value for money! I heard this is their signature dessert. Yes, it was nice and quite highly infused with liquor. May not be suitable for children. We only ordered one slice to share among the 3 of us but we can't even finish it as it was quite sweet too.

Ambush Barra Della Pasta

Monday - 10/11/08
Pasta, I'm not a fan of pasta but sometimes I do crave for it. I was at Takashimaya & decided to try Ambush Pasta for lunch. I order a Japanese Baby Scallop w/nori linguini @ S$11.00.

The portion was good and come with quite a few pcs of scallop & fish roe was added to enhance the richness of the sauce. It's one of their chef recommendation dish.
