Tony Roma's

4th Oct 2009

Tony Roma's, an American family restaurant chain, famous for its baby back ribs and other specialties like steaks, BBQ chicken & seafood. We were there for Sunday dinner weeks ago. Wanted to have something different other than zi char so really enjoyed the food. The last time I dined here was like 2-3 years ago... but was glad that the quality of the food still maintain well. I know the serving portion will be big so I only ordered 2 main courses to share among the 5 of us and 2 starters & a salad. Started off with some complimentary warm rolls with garlic butter spread, followed by the starters, main courses & salad. Didn't order any dessert as we were too full for any.

Onion Loaf (Half - S$8.90)
A signature starter - Giant hand-cut onions, breaded, deep-fried and served with BBQ Mayo dipping sauce. Very nice and crispy! Surprisingly not very oily and the onion was so juicy & sweet.

Calamari Rings (S$10.90)

Lightly breaded calamari rings deep fried to golden brown and served with red hot garlic dipping sauce. Not bad but don't like the dipping sauce.

Caesar Salad (S$10.90)

Crisp Romaine lettuce tossed with fresh shredded Parmesan cheese, croutons and Caesar dressing. A salad to balance off our meaty meal. Very fresh & appetizing!

The Original Baby Back Ribs (Full Slab - S$33.90)

A world signature ribs - Tender, lean pork loin meat, basted with Tony Roma’s Original BBQ sauce served with 2 choices of sides. Perfectly grilled, the meat was tender and the BBQ sauce was nice too, very balance and not too sourish. Thumb up for the baby ribs!

Rib & Steak Combo (S$35.90)

Half Slab of St Louis Style Ribs with Ribeye Steak and 2 side dishes. We had the rib in spicy sauce and the steak done medium. The St Louis Ribs were not so tender and a bit dry. The spicy sauce was not as good as the original BBQ sauce. The steak was nicely char grilled but a bit too done for our liking. I should have requested for medium rare instead. However, the 2 sides were pretty good especially the mashed potatoes.

The french loaf with garlic butter was complimentary. We ordered 4 authentic bottled coke at promotional price - 4 for $10.oo.
