Paradise Inn @ City Square Mall

City Square Mall - Singapore's First Eco Mall and also a new shopping mall located at the junction of Serangoon and Kitchener Roads near Little India. We were there for dinner on one of the Sunday's at Paradise Inn - a casual dining Chinese restaurant under Paradise Group of Restaurants. I remembered I had a rather good meal at the Funan branch months ago when they just launched. However, this new branch at City Square Mall doesn't fare as good as I expected it to be.

Double Boiled Pork Stomach Soup w/Pepper - S$13.80

The stock was a bit bland and mild, only tasted peppery.

Fried Cod Fish w/Fermented Beancurb - S$18.00

This was pretty good, almost like melt in the mouth with a bite. However, portion was rather small.

Bittergourd w/Pork Ribs - S$12.00

This was nice, good "wok hei" and the pork was very tender.

Asparagus w/Spicy Sauce - S$12.00

The sauce was not spicy at all. In fact was too sweet and starchy for my liking.

Pork Trotter Vermicelli - S$12.00

A signature dish but didn't "wow" us. Same as the asparagus, the seasoning was on the sweeter side which we didn't like.

Mango Sago - S$3.50

The mango flavouring and colour looked and tasted a bit artificial to me. Not the real authentic type.

I felt that the food and ambiance are not as good as the Funan outlet. The cooking style was on the sweeter side which doesn't suit our palates.
