CNY Bakes 2010: Some new bakes

This year other than that 3 cookies I always baked, I also baked quite a variety of goodies and I tried my hand on some new bakes...

4. Almond Nougat Cookies

Got this recipe from Chef Keiko's baking class. This is a French cookies, the centre nougat is very fragrant and crisp surrounded with buttery cookies. Very special and yummy!

5. Kueh Bangkit

Since last year, I been wanted to try baking this traditional CNY cookies and finally did it this year. Though the taste was very good but the texture was not so melt in the mouth. I think I had overhandled it. Will try again some other time.

6. Pistacho Snow Balls

Recipe from Keiko's Cookbook. Instead of using almond, I used pistacho and it turned out pretty nice too.

7. London Almond Chocolate

Learnt this recently at Valerie's baking class and I like it very much so I included it in my CNY bake list too. I added some Valhorna choc crunch balls and it make it taste even better.

8. Kueh Bahlu

Saw this recipes from "The Waitakere Refneck's Kitchen" and find it rather easy to make. Since my Di like this so I made some for him. However, I find this kueh a bit too dry for my liking. AK shared another recipe with me, I will try that out soon.

9. Mini Choc Chips & Pecan Cookies

My favourite Valerie's Choc Chip cookies was also one of my CNY bakes.

10. Mini Peanut Butter Cookies

The last item in my baked list was this newly learnt recipe from Chef Audrey's baking class.

Finally, baking trays after trays of cookies, I'm finally done with my CNY 2010 bakes just 2 days before CNY. To summaries, I had baked the following:

1. Pineapples Tarts
2. Sugees
3. Cashew Nuts Cookies
4. Almond Nougat Cookies
5. Kueh Bangkit
6. Pistacho Snow Balls
7. London Almond Cookies
8. Kueh Bahlu
9. Mini Choc Chips & Pecan Cookies
10. Mini Peanut Butter Cookies

This year I baked in variety but not quantity so not all my relatives got a set of everthings. Hope they like my bakes. Once again I would to:
Wish all my readers, friends, colleagues and family "A Very Happy and Properous Tiger Year! Happy New Year & Gong Xi Fa Cai!!! "
