Yi Jia South Village Seafood Restaurant

26th Jan 2010

This coffee shop zi char is very near to my house within walking distance. It was recommended by Suzzling Woks, a very popular TV programme that recommended nice and value for money zi char in different housing estate in Singapore.

We went on a weekday evening so it was not as crowded as it will be on weekends. We ordered our favourite fish head steamboat though that was not their signature dish but I saw quite a few tables also had that so assuming it should be good. We ordered a large pot for $32.00. When it was served, four of us were like "wow" so big ah! Really very big and the whole pot was filled with fish, yam and vegetables. Super value for money and the soup was rich and flavourful too. I'm glad that I don't have to go elsewhere anymore for fishhead steamboat. There's one so good near my place. Hurray!

Fish Head Steamboat

Honey Dew Prawns

One of the signature dish and seem like every diners will order this dish so did us. The prawn was coated with a light batter and deep fried till crispy, coated with mayo liked sauce serve in honeydew casing. However, this dish didn't impress us though it was nice.

The food here is really delicious and the price Is very reasonable with the recent crisis. Must try the salted egg crabs served either dry or with gravy.. Must really try..

I definitely agree with you that the food is superb and the price is very reasonable. The Yi Jia Restaurant already opened another outlet at 550-552 MacPherson  Road. No need to wait a long time to have a taste of their mouth-watering food and the ambiance is fantastic since it is already air-conditioned :)
