My Weekend Cooking - May 2010

Some of the weekend meals prepared by me in May 2010...

Korean BBQ Pork with Lettuce
Hot Pepper Paste Soup

The Korean hot pepper paste soup has become one of my family's favourite recently. It's so easy to prepare, with homemade stock added that made the soup so rich and spicy! It's a comfort food served it with Calrose rice, really yummylicious!

Hamachi Fishhead in Teriyaki sauce
Vegetables & Mushroom Miso Soup

Bought the hamachi fishhead from Hokkaido Market at S$8.90 only. The fishhead was very fresh and meaty. Simply pan seared it and stir in unagi or teriyaki sauce.

Laksa & Cashew Nut Pesto Linguine
Simple Romaine Lettuce Salad in Sesame dressing

This recipe was published on the Sunday Times sometimes ago. Saw Evan's Kitchen Ramblings tried out this recipe and commented it rather good. So I gave it a try but my pesto was brown in colour instead of greenish. I followed the recipe very closely, anyway it's a very rich flavour pasta but the laksa leaves fragrant was not prominent, tasted more nutty.

Another Sunday brunch at home ...

Bought the roll & quiche from Cedele again and served it with scramble eggs, bacon & cucumber salad.
