79/79A Circuit Road Food Centre

15 May 2011

It's Sunday again, our family dine out day! Decided to explore Circuit Road Food Centre for dinner. A huge food centre rather well known for vegetarian food. You can find a handful of vegetarian stalls but we usually go for zi char (Kim Sun) in this food centre. That evening, we went for claypot rice, fried prawn noodles and fried oyster egg instead.

Claypot Chicken Rice - $6/$10/$15

We ordered the $15 pot and was good enough to serve 4-5 people.

The rice texture was cooked till just right and was fragrant with sauce added. The salted egg yolk and salted fish give it a richer flavour. Very generous with the ingredients too! Definitely value for money.

Vegetable - $2.50

Very bland tasting, is forgetable!

(close on Wed)

Fried Prawn Mee - $3/$5

This stall has been around since my childhood but seem to get expensive and not as good as it used to be. The portion was really small for $3.00.

Opening hour: 5.30pm onward

Fried Oyster - $5.00

This is good and is comparable to Ah Chuan in Toa Payoh, forgot to note down the stall. I think is 2 rows behind the claypot rice.
