Anahata Villas & Spa Resort @ Ubud, Bali

Day 1 (Part 3) - 25th Aug 2011

After a satisfying lunch at Malioboro @ Kuta, our driver drove us to Ubud. The town where we chose to stay in Bali. Ubud is located among the rice paddy fields, rice terraces, tropical rain forest and mountain, a town that is rich in Bali's culture and arts. In Ubud, the best accommodation will be staying in Villas. Since we wanted a real different holiday experience so decided to spend a bit more for villa instead of hotel stay. We booked the villa at Natura Resort and Spa but the resort had made some mistakes on our booking and not able to give us a villa on the first day. They rearranged and let us stayed at Anahata Villas & Spa Resort on the first night. The resort was very quiet and seem like only 2 villas were occupied.

Anahata Resort - a natural retreat for Mind, Body and Soul. The resort started in Nov 2004 and the name Anahata means love, compassion and harmony.

Anahata's Reception

The resort has a total of 12 villas. Each villa consists of a 3 storey  building. We paid approximately Rp2,250,000 (SGD295) per night with breakfast for 4 paxes.

Welcome drink, dining and lobby area

We stayed in Villa 1 - Anggrek. The living and dining area are located on 2nd floor. Quite impressed with the spacious living hall that has a balcony which has a very nice rain forest scenery. It also comes with a small pantry.

The 3 storey villa has a private plunge pool and garden. The bedroom at 1st floor has a pool view.

There are 2 twin guest rooms, 2 bathrooms, private pool and garden located on the 1st floor.

The master bedroom located on the 3rd floor, complete with king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and a lounge bed. The villa is too big for the 4 of us and in the end all of us squeezed together at the master bedroom...lol!

After checking in, we decided to stay in and enjoyed the facilities. We went for foot and limpatic massage. After the spa treatment, we ordered room service for dinner.

We ordered 3 sets of meal, a fruit yogurt and a dessert to share. Total cost about Rp350,000 (SGD45).

Fried noodles with satay

Steamed rice with lemongrass chicken with vegetables and curry

Nasi goreng with satay

Fruit and honey yogurt

Banana chocolate fritters!

Wow, Nice pics. Resort means relax and spend their quality time with their loved ones just like spending a holiday. One best thing about resorts is that people get completely free from their hectic schedules and enjoy the luxury provided by facility staff and other management in the resort.http://www.whatisall.com/travel/what-is-a-resort.html

Hi Wen

Can see that you enjoyed your stay there. i spent my honeymoon in Ubud years back and loved the place compared to the beach area. Your post makes me feel like heading back there again. I had a lovely stay at the Uma property which is divine but totally missed out the Babi Guling place (i think not opened at night). Trust your view that it is over rated as compared to Anthony Bourdain (not exactly the authority on Asian cuisine) haha!
