Day 4 (Part 3) - 28th Aug 2011

Our 4 days 3 nights Bali escapade were finally coming to an end as we spent our last 2 hours on the Island at Discovery Shopping Mall. This is the biggest shopping mall in Bali, Kuta. We still had 2 hours to spare before going to the airport so just did some last minutes shopping at the mall. A family entertainment centre that has departmental stores, supermarket, shops, cinemas and eateries!

Warung Nasi Babi Guling Men Agus

Day 4 (Part 2) - 28th Aug 2011

After visiting Tanah Lot, it was time for lunch. We wished to try authentic Balinese food and our guide brought us to Men Agus for babi guling again. This is one of his and the Balinese favourite place for babi guling.

Slightly different from Ibu Oka, the version here was more interesting in term of varieties. It comes with the babi guling crackling skin and meat, 2 side vegetables, fried pork, sausage and 2 sticks of chicken satay.

Jimbaran Bay Seafood Restaurant

Day 3 (Part 5) - 27th Aug 2011

There are many seafood restaurants lined up along Jimbaran Bay and most of them offer similar menu - Fresh Grilled Seafood. The restaurant at Jimbaran Bay are mostly overpriced and be prepared to pay a steeper price here as compared to other restaurants in Bali. We settled ourselves at Jimbaran Bay Seafood (JBK).

The view was simply breath taking during sunset. Enjoy a drink before we started our dinner.

We started our beach visiting day after a simple American breakfast at the resort. Our guide cum driver brought us to Tanjong Benoa beach at Nusa Dua for some water sports.

The beach was packed with water sport activities and definitely not a cosy beach to laze around. We spent a short morning on water sport and decided to visit Padang beach which is more suitable for sun bathing and lazing.

Natura Villa Resort & Spa - Ubud Bali

Day 2 (Part 8) - 26th Aug 2011

We checked in to Natura Villa Resort & Spa in the afternoon after we were done with the itinerary for the day. This was the resort we originally booked as I mentioned in Day 1, finally we got our villas on Day 2. Instead of giving us the Luxury Pool Villa with 2 bedrooms which were under renovation, we were compensated by 2 single bedroom villas without extra charges. So in the end we only paid IDR 3,150,000 per night for 2 villas (SGD400) which was quite cheap. We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed the stay very much. The resort is a great place for relaxation and honeymooners. Very peaceful, serene and lots of privacy.

Santi Agro Wisata Farm

Day 2 (Part 7) - 26th Aug 2011

We visited Santi Agro Wisata Coffee and Cocoa Farm after Mount Batur Volcano. The purpose of the visit is to have a taste of the famous Kopi Luwak which is only produced in Indonesia. The coffee is so special and expensive because of the tedious process it takes to produce. The coffee berries are fed to the civet cat, the beans are digested and fermented in the civet cat's digestive tract, the beans are then passed out whole in the feces. The farmer will collect the beans, washed, dried and lightly roasted. Through this process, the coffee yield an aromatically smooth with less bitterness.

Anahata Villas & Spa Resort @ Ubud, Bali

Day 1 (Part 3) - 25th Aug 2011

After a satisfying lunch at Malioboro @ Kuta, our driver drove us to Ubud. The town where we chose to stay in Bali. Ubud is located among the rice paddy fields, rice terraces, tropical rain forest and mountain, a town that is rich in Bali's culture and arts. In Ubud, the best accommodation will be staying in Villas. Since we wanted a real different holiday experience so decided to spend a bit more for villa instead of hotel stay. We booked the villa at Natura Resort and Spa but the resort had made some mistakes on our booking and not able to give us a villa on the first day. They rearranged and let us stayed at Anahata Villas & Spa Resort on the first night. The resort was very quiet and seem like only 2 villas were occupied.

Anahata Resort - a natural retreat for Mind, Body and Soul. The resort started in Nov 2004 and the name Anahata means love, compassion and harmony.

Is actually fried chicken using pressurized cooking method, deep fried till very crispy and tender even the bone can be eaten. The restaurant is air-conditioned and clean with simple interior setting.

Bali - Ubud Trip: 25th Aug 2011 to 28th Aug 2011

Last August, I went to Bali, Ubud with 3 of my buddies. The last time where the 4 of us had a trip together was to Phuket in 2010. Back then was Hwee's birthday. This trip was to celebrate Jaime's birthday! It's becoming a trend for us to go for a short trip together on our birthdays. It was a great and relaxing trip! All of us had a good time together too, catching up with one another.

Wonderful cultures, sceneries, beaches and weather!
