Chua Seng Huat Seafood Restaurant

[Closed]
I been staying in Toa Payoh for more than 10 years and I didn't even know that there's this traditional teochew Cze Char at Lor 8. I came to know about them recently from Chef Yong Blog - Cool Chef where he had a write up on this eatery.

I had tried a few take away of beehoon & horfun from there since I knew about their existence. Last night was my first time dining there and trying out some of their dishes. Well, not bad and quite cheap if you ordered normal cze char dishes and their serving is quite big. All our dishes, we ordered the small size and was enough for 5-6 pax. Total bill $55.00 for 5 dishes for 5 of us.

Claypot Fishhead - S$18.00

The sauce was tasty and the pot filled with tofu, pea, long cabbage, mushroom, roast pork & yam.
Oyster Omelette - S$10.00

The egg omelette top with sambal oyster, the sambal was quite good and a lot oyster too. A must try dish.

Teochew Prawn Rolls (Hae Cho) - S$8.00 (Chef recommendation)

One of the best I had tasted so far and definitely a must order dish!

Sweet & Sour Pork - S$8.00

Not bad but it's so common that most cook can do it quite well so nothing to rave about.
Beancurb Skin Kailan - $8.00

Beancurb skin too thick and the sauce too starchy.

We will come back quite often to try their other dishes especially crab and their Teochew Steamed fish.
