Appreciation Dinner at Zambuca

26th Mar 2010

It's a work affair dinner. An appreciation dinner for my company's vendors at Pan Pacific Hotel. A specially planned dinner that catered to 140 people at S$80++ per person. The price includes the buffet with drinks (exclude alcohol drink) and the whole venue fully booked for the event - Zambuca. A sophisticated and fine dining Italian restuarant & bar located at Level 3, Pan Pacific Singapore. For the buffet spread, the food was not entirely from Zambuca, some from Hai Tien Lo and also Gobal Kitchen. The restaurant ambiance is superb with live band invited by us. A pretty enjoyable evening with good food and wine.

Starters

1. Slices of smoked duck w/mango salsa
2. Chicken and apple salad in sesame dressing
3. Shrimp salad with pineapple
4. Italian mixed grilled vegetables in Balsamico
5. Fresh salad with mustard, olives, horseradish & mixed pickles dressing

Among the starters, my favourites were the smoked duck and shrimp salad. Both salad dressing were well concocted and appetising.

Soup & Bread Rolls

6. Fresh mushroom soup served with assorted hard rolls and butter.
The soup was too thick and creamy for my liking and the bread rolls was real hard and cold.

Mains & Hot dishes

7. Roasted lamb leg with mini garlic juz
8. Roasted chicken with shallots & spicy garlic vinaigrette
9. Wok-fried prawns in XO chilli sauce
10. Beef stew in coconut gravy
11. Steamed sea perch fillets with special sesame soya sauce
12. Braised spinach with mushroom & carrot
13. Hai Tien Lo's specialty fried rice
14. Wok-fried seafood ramen "Japanese style"

All the food in this section were very good indeed except for the spinach was a bit overcooked. My fav dish was the steamed sea perch fillets. Very fresh and sweet.

Dessert & drinks

15. Tiramisu
16. Mini fruit tartlets
17. Raspberry macaron tarts
18. Fresh cut fruits
19. Mango sago puree (no picture)
20. Drinks - Soft drink, juices, coffee & tea

The tiramisu and raspberry macaron were pretty nice.

Annual Dinner & Dance At Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore

Saturday - 17th January 2009
My company Annual D&D was held on 17th Jan 2009 at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The theme of the night was Bollywood Night! Most of them were quite sporty to come with Saree & punjabi, my co D&D committee all dressed up to the theme. The dinner was typical 9 course halal chinese dinner.

Menu of the night:
1. Lobster Salad Platter
2. Shark Fin
3. Steam Herbal Prawns
4. Stewed Chestnuts Chicken
5. Brasied Abalone & Mushroom w/Broccoli
6. Scallop & Sweet Pea in XO Sauce
7. Steam Red Garupa
8. Stewed Ee Fu Noodles
9. Peanut Cream Dessert w/Ginko Nuts (Something similar... I can't really remember as no photo taken)

The last 2 dishes, I forgotten to snatch photos as I was enjoying the showtime. Overall the dinner was quite tasty but a bit too salty for some of the dishes. For the lucky draw, I got a S$120.00 NTUC voucher, not too bad but last year was better.
