Fellow colleagues were very spontaneous to dress up to the occasion to give us some entertainment at the party! A $20 gift was contributed by all staff for gift exchange. I got myself a 16GB thumbdrive!
Last post of the Year 2011! My Christmas Celebration 2011 began with shopping for X'mas presents and baking for family, colleagues & friends! This year didn't bake much, just baked some Val's chocolate macadamia cookies & fruit cakes.
Lots of time spend baking the cookies and packed them up but it's worth all the effort as I received fabulous feedbacks that they enjoyed my bakes...!
My workplace will be shifting soon to a new building at Tagore...(dreadful... a bit far) and recently we were invited to the Topping up ceremony at the new premise. Buffet from Seyu Catering was served. Food was pretty ordinary and not good enough to impress.
We were invited to boss's house for CNY dinner last Friday after work. It's another annual affair and the caterer for the evening was the same as last year - Purple Sage. Food qualities were generally not bad with more hits than misses but I didn't like the way they presented the buffet spread. I find it pretty messy and not appealing. Hence, most of us preferred the food served from the chefs at the live stations. Fresh, piping hot and all tasted very good. Prata, tempura and laksa all fared above average. I didn't take many photos as I was busying with majong...lol and the lighting was very dim! Only manage to snap some photos of the food when I arrived where the sky was still bright at 6 plus in the evening.

DeliHub Catering under Neo Group is always the preferred halal certified caterer for their quality food and consistency. That's explain why they has been the caterer for this day for the past years. Counting down to Yuan Xiao (元宵) - last day of CNY 17/2/11
A company function - New Year Day Celebration dinner buffet was arranged at workplace. Caterer for the day was Orchid Thai Catering. This caterer specialised in halal certified Thai Fusion cuisine. Quality of food are quite authentic and nice. See the menu as follows and those highlighted in red were in my opinion executed pretty well and were also the signature dishes. However the portion were not very generous as we catered for 120 paxes but only about 100 paxes were eating and there were no leftover at all which was quite unusual.

It's a work affair dinner. An appreciation dinner for my company's vendors at Pan Pacific Hotel. A specially planned dinner that catered to 140 people at S$80++ per person. The price includes the buffet with drinks (exclude alcohol drink) and the whole venue fully booked for the event - Zambuca. A sophisticated and fine dining Italian restuarant & bar located at Level 3, Pan Pacific Singapore. For the buffet spread, the food was not entirely from Zambuca, some from Hai Tien Loand also Gobal Kitchen. The restaurant ambiance is superb with live band invited by us. A pretty enjoyable evening with good food and wine.

1. Slices of smoked duck w/mango salsa
2. Chicken and apple salad in sesame dressing
3. Shrimp salad with pineapple
4. Italian mixed grilled vegetables in Balsamico
5. Fresh salad with mustard, olives, horseradish & mixed pickles dressing
Among the starters, my favourites were the smoked duck and shrimp salad. Both salad dressing were well concocted and appetising.
Soup & Bread Rolls
6. Fresh mushroom soup served with assorted hard rolls and butter.
The soup was too thick and creamy for my liking and the bread rolls was real hard and cold.

7. Roasted lamb leg with mini garlic juz
8. Roasted chicken with shallots & spicy garlic vinaigrette
9. Wok-fried prawns in XO chilli sauce
10. Beef stew in coconut gravy
11. Steamed sea perch fillets with special sesame soya sauce
12. Braised spinach with mushroom & carrot
13. Hai Tien Lo's specialty fried rice
14. Wok-fried seafood ramen "Japanese style"
All the food in this section were very good indeed except for the spinach was a bit overcooked. My fav dish was the steamed sea perch fillets. Very fresh and sweet.

17. Raspberry macaron tarts

Another tradition of the company I work in is that my boss will invite all employees to his house for a gathering during CNY. This year caterer was Purple Sage. It's a hotel style buffet with live station serving Sushi, Mee Siam, Prata, Tempura, Tea Tarik, Rojak, Chocolate Fountain etcs. I dropped by for awhile so only manage to try some of the food and snap some of the live stations photos while the caterer was setting up.
