Chinese food with a touch of Thai is what I feel of Hui Wei Chinese - Thai Cuisine located in one of the coffee shop at French Road. You can get some of the Thai dishes here but the cooking style was milder in term of seasoning and spiciness and that really cater more to our local taste bud. Reasonably priced and offered a variety of nice Chinese-Thai dishes.
Signature Fish Head - Very unique! The sauce is so appetising! The fish head was fresh and cooked just right!
Skinny Pizza is always on my to try list and got to try it on one of my dinner date with Sharon! We waited for awhile to get a table but it was definitely worth the wait as we enjoyed the food.
The English Breakfast - The crust was very thin, crispy and crackling! Very different from the usual pizza. We liked it as its not as filling as the usual pizza. We can easily polish the whole pizza off.
Whampoa Drive Food Centre is quite a popular hawker centre in Singapore. When you mentioned about best Rojak in Singapore, one of Singaporean favourite local delicacies! Other than the one at Toa Payoh Hub, we will channel our thoughts to Whampoa Drive Food Centre. Yes the famous Balestier Road Hoover Rojak is located in this food centre. Of course other than rojak we can find many local delights here too. We tried a few stalls when we visited on one of the Sunday family dinner outing.
Balestier Road Hoover Rojak 豪华罗雜 (#01-06)
Always long queue, must be prepared to queue if you want to try! My uncle all time fav so he was willingly queuing 20 mins for it! lol!
It's been ages since we last visited this Fishhead Steamboat restaurant along Balestier Road! Business is still as good as ever! Always full house during dinner hours. Signature dish of course is the fishhead steamboat 鱼头炉! They also offer a wide variety of zi char dishes which are all not bad too!
Groupon deal can be addictive! There was a period of time I kept buying and sometimes forgot to use it! Till recently I refrain myself from buying anymore. My brother is also one of them...lol! Every time almost expiring he will pass the groupon to me. Thanks to him for this visit to Lao Beijing. We had a good meal and the food were all very flavourful and yummy!
Singapore Restaurant Week has become a twice yearly affair. It has given us foodies to try out fine dining restaurants at a very affordable price. The last one I tried was Infusion at Dempsey. So this round I chose Thai cuisine which is one of my family's favourite. Patara Fine Thai Cuisine located at Tanglin Mall is one of the regulars participating restaurant in the Restaurant Week. The food was generally not bad but very impressive. However we did enjoy the great ambience!
Bought Groupon's deal and gave my family a treat at The Manhattan Fish Market, J8. Not impressed by the food probably will be our first and last visit.
Seafood Platter - A very generous portion enough to serve 4 for the small eaters.
Signed up for The King of Kong Bak Pau Makan Session at Westlake 西湖小吃 with 3 of my colleagues. Our first time attending such event. The food was good overall with more hits than misses but just a bit too heavy in seasonings and oil for some dishes if not will be perfect. However the theme for the makan session was Kong Bak Pau and Westlake's version of Kong Bak Pau definitely lives up to it's name - King! So far is one of the best I have tried!
Thank you Dr Leslie Tay! We had an enjoyable evening!
