Twelve Cupcakes

I have never been a cupcake lover and always find it too sweet for my liking! However after trying Twelve Cupcakes, I'm a convert! They are so easy to like... so soft and light with so many interesting flavours to choose from daily! Twelve Cupcakes owned by the celebrity couple, Jaime and Daniel Ong is expanding really fast since it started last year. They strived to open 12 outlets islandwide and they are almost there already with 4 more to go! Congrats!

Takeaway @ Yonehachi

Japanese version of glutinous rice! Have you tried before? Is surprisingly yummy and comes in different flavour. I tried the curry and salmon Okowa, both are nice.

Premium Chicken Pie @ Swisslink Bakery & Cafe

The last time I blogged about this chicken pie was 2 years ago. Two years later the pie is still as good and as impressive. They were from a neighbourhood bakery cafe and they also have very good curry puff and apple pie.

Perfectly bake chicken pie with lovely pastry!

Ritz Durian Strudel

After dinner at Auntie Kim's, went to Ritz Apple Strudel which is located next door to grab some dessert home. I love their durian strudel more than apple strudel! I'm kind of weird in food... I love apple eaten fresh but not cooked in dessert.

Different types of strudel available - apple, durian, mango, peach, strawberry & blueberry. Which one do you prefer?

Tip Top versus AMK Curry Puff

I believe most Singaporeans are familiar with Tip Top in Ang Mok Kio for their yummilicious curry puff. If not for the curry puff, should have read about the headline they made few years ago for tax evasion. Recently I chanced upon AMK Curry Puff in Toa Payoh and wondering are they related to Tip Top. My buddy colleague Sharon told me the man in the picture is from Tip Top too. So is it they sell away Tip Top and start AMK Curry Puff? Anybody know?

So which one taste better...?

Awfully Chocolate

Awfully Chocolate selling quality chocolate cakes, ice cream and truffles has various outlets all over Singapore and Asia. Went with my colleague to the cafe along East Coast Road after I got my cake at Obolo for she wanted to get some super stacked chocolate cake for her son. I bought some truffles to try...

Dark chocolate truffle - $13.00/100g

Hand cut truffles - awfully dark, sinfully rich and smooth chocolate!

Obolo - Joo Chiat

[Closed]
Obolo - A little french bakery cafe along Joo Chiat specialises in gourmet desserts, cheesecakes, tarts and macarons. It has been almost 2 years ago since my last visit. After getting my durian puffs at Puteri Mas, I saw Obolo is just opposite calling me... come come... lol! So here's what I get from there... wahahaha! What a sugar loaded weekends! And it didn't just end at Obolo as down the street there are Awfully Chocolate, Mooshi Bakes... lol!

Tiramisu au Chocolat

Puteri Mas's Durian Puff

Whenever I am in Joo Chiat, I will definitely drop by Puteri Mas to get a box of mini durian puff home. My family and doggies love it! Puteri Mas specialises in durian dessert, is just few shops away from Tian Tian. The last time I bought was at $11/box and now $11.80/box! Wow price increasing yearly!

Flor Pâtisserie - Revisited

12th June 2011

The last visit to this charming Japanese bakery cafe was almost a year ago. Always wanted to drop by again but simply has no chance till that day after lunch at Noble House since is just nearby. Bought 2 pcs of cakes and some cheese tarts home to enjoy over the weekend.

Tong Heng Confectionery

Tong Heng is located just few units away from 136 HK Fish head Steamboat, is an historical confectionery shop specialised in traditional Chinese pastry. My family love the egg tarts very much especially my aunt. I will always buy some for her whenever I saw them. Bought a box of 6 home after dinner at 136.

Other than egg tarts, what else is good?

Weekend Breakfast II - Chwee Kueh

Chwee Kueh is one of the traditional Singaporean breakfast that I enjoy. There is a very nice chwee kueh stall in the food centre (Blk 22 Lorong 7 Toa Payoh Food Centre) near my place. Whenever my aunt goes to the market on Fri/Sat, I will get her to buy some for weekend breakfast. Usually we will pay additional $0.30 to have the chay poh and chilli pack separately.

Chwee Kueh - S$1.00 for 4

I like the soft and creamy texture of the kueh, the chay poh was fried till very fragrant too.

Green Pumpkin Japanese Bakery @ Nex

Green Pumpkin - a new Japanese bakery under the same group as Ichiban Boshi located at Nex too. The beautiful green pumpkin bread attracted me to the bakery and I could'nt stop myself from buying back some for next morning breakfast. The green pastry was was quite nice after a toast and the bread was filled with mashed pumpkin. Quite unique. The other bread I tried was the baked donut curry cheese hotdog bun. I like it very much even better than the green pumpkin bread. The soft bun was coated with bread crumb to bake and filled with delicious Japanese curry which went very well with the hotdog.

MOF Ice Cream @ LENAS

17th Dec 2010

After our enjoyable dinner at Barcelos, we went to get some takeaway ice cream from MOF @ Lenas to curb our dessert craving. The ice cream was from Hokkaido, pretty light and smooth. I preferred the vanilla flavour than the cookie and cream.

Xi Dian Hong Kong Pastry

Lovely flaky pastry egg tarts and Polo Bun but the chicken pie was not so nice. This bakery used to be at Tampines but has relocated to Bedok. Their bakes are very similar to the one at Sago St - Leung Sang Hong Kong Pastries.

Will update the new address once I find it but sometimes you can find them in Square 2 food fair.

Tom's Palette

20th Nov 2010

Another hidden gem in Shaw Tower, directly facing Ah Loy Thai is a very popular ice cream parlor. Tom's Palette been very much rave about too so how can we not try some after dinner at Ah Loy Thai. The ice cream are homemade and many unique flavours to choose from. The flavour we had were quite light, mix berries with chocolate chunks. Quite nice and not too sweet with generous chunks of chocolates. Shiok!

Teng Yu (鼎优) D24 Durian Pancake

14th Nov 2010

Best durian pancake in Singapore!?! A delightful snack and dessert!

Passed by the pancake shop after dinner at Su Korean Cuisine. Teng Yu also located at Far East Plaza. They sell porridge and chee cheong fun too. We were attracted by the signage so bought a piece to try. It was so good that we bought another piece to share even though we were already very full. A must try if you happen to pass by. It's such a delight!

D24 Durian Pancake - S$1.50

The pancake was very light and crispy on the outside and the filling was cool in the inside. Pure D24 durian flesh was used. Marvelous!

There are other flavours available too, chocolate, cheese and peanut but the durian is the most popular.
