This year I was invited by my company to attended E50 dinner again. A black tie event serving French cuisine. The menu was not as good as last year but was still enjoyable.

Smoked Duck with Saffrn Poached Pear, Foie Gras with Raisin Compote and Truffle Oil


Light Cream of Butternut Pumpkin Soup Infused with Coriander


Pan Seared Barramundi Fillet on Edamane Pea Puree with Cream Reduction and Braised Fennel served with Confit Tomatoes on Basil Olive Oil


Apricot Almond Tart with Sautee Spiced Apricot and Vanilla Gelato

Our Annual Dinner & Dance was held at Pan Pacific Singapore. We had the stardard and rather boring 8 course chinese dinner. Nothing really impressive... Well the good thing was I won a S$100 supermarket voucher for the lucky draw.

Enterprise 50 Gala Dinner - Yr 2009

Let me take a break from posting my Oct '09 backlogs and proceed with this... If you happened to be reading the paper on Tues, there's a section of exclusive write up on E5o winners which were announced on Mon - 2/11/09. The company I work in happened to be one of the 50 winners and I happened to be invited to the E50 Annual Award Gala Dinner held at Raffles City Convention Centre.

A Black Tie event dinner and for those who were interested in what was served? This was the menu:



Assorted Bread Rolls Basket



Appetizer
Mountain pepper seared magura and salmon
Prawn tartar and tabiko roe
Fresh herbs and young salad
Citrus vinaigrette and prawn oil



Soup
Celeriac and granny-smith apple soup
Infused with truffle oil and sprinkled with roasted macadamia nut



Main Course
Slow cooked duck leg confit with Madeira reduction
Baked baby chicken breast with duck liver mousse and cepes
On butternut mash and roasted green asparagus



Dessert
Almond chocolate cake with ivory mint custard
Strawberry jelly and forest of fruits sherbet

Wedding Dinner @ Club Chinois, Orchard Parade Hotel

Last night attended a colleague's son wedding dinner at Orchard Parade Hotel by Club Chinois, Tung Lok. A standard 8 course dinner in Antica Ballroom, the ballroom is quite small with low ceiling. The food was ok only but I expect it to be better since it's under Tung Lok. The best dish I think goes to the dessert, Yam puree with gingko nuts.

8 course dinner:
1. Roast Suckling Pig and Club Chinios Special
2. Shark's Fin Broth w/Crab Meat & Dried Scallop
3. Sauteed Prawns and Scallop with Asparagus in Homemade XO Sauce
4. Steamed Marble Goby, Hong Kong Style
5. Braised Shell Mushrooms w/Chef's Spinach Beancurd
6. Crisp Roast Chicken served w/Haw & Red Wine Sauce
7. Stir Fried Mee Sua w/Shredded Mushroom & Bean Sprout
8. Yam Puree w/Gingko Nuts

Annual Dinner & Dance At Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore

Saturday - 17th January 2009
My company Annual D&D was held on 17th Jan 2009 at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The theme of the night was Bollywood Night! Most of them were quite sporty to come with Saree & punjabi, my co D&D committee all dressed up to the theme. The dinner was typical 9 course halal chinese dinner.

Menu of the night:
1. Lobster Salad Platter
2. Shark Fin
3. Steam Herbal Prawns
4. Stewed Chestnuts Chicken
5. Brasied Abalone & Mushroom w/Broccoli
6. Scallop & Sweet Pea in XO Sauce
7. Steam Red Garupa
8. Stewed Ee Fu Noodles
9. Peanut Cream Dessert w/Ginko Nuts (Something similar... I can't really remember as no photo taken)




The last 2 dishes, I forgotten to snatch photos as I was enjoying the showtime. Overall the dinner was quite tasty but a bit too salty for some of the dishes. For the lucky draw, I got a S$120.00 NTUC voucher, not too bad but last year was better.
