Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies

I still not able to pick up the momentum of updating my blog after I was back from vacation. I feel so lazy recently, been spending most of my free time watching K-drama instead. I think I will need amber time to clear my tons of backlogs. Please bear with me ok! Anyway, I'm going to get started with this cookie. This cookie is rated as one of the Top 10 favourites by Browneyedbaker, one of the blog I frequent. So I gave it a try too as I was curious how it will be liked with Snickers!

For those who love peanut butter, snickers and soft chewy texture cookie, you going to love this. As for me, I still prefer crunchy cookie.

Moist Chocolate Cake

I will be off on vacation from now till 25th May 2011. Please pandon me if your comments are not published or replied during this period as I may not be able to access to any internet. Before that, I will like to share this simple to make Moist chocolate cake with all of you. Why simple? Because you just need to beat all ingredients together for few minutes and bake! Easy right! Thanks Happy Flour for sharing this recipe.

It's a very chocolaty and moist cake, texture a bit muffin like! Are you tempted by it...lol!

Baked Nutella Cupcakes again!

Nutella - a hazelnut chocolate spread, is a great ingredient for bakes! If you have Nutella to clear, try it on this recipe. I love this Nutella cupcake recipe from Judy of A Busy Gran's Kitchen so much that I baked it again.  I'm submitting this to Aspiring Bakers #7: Chocolate Delight (May 2011) hosted by Doris of Tested & Tasted.

Nutty, chocolaty, buttery & moist!

Soft Banana Bailey Cupcakes

Banana bake again...lol! Please bear with me for another banana cake post! There are so many nice banana cake recipes around that I can't resist and this is a very good one too from Anncoo Journal. Soft, moist and bursting with strong banana fragrant! I gave the recipe a twist by using Bailey Irish Cream instead of milk as I'm trying very hard to finish the bottle of Bailey sitting in my fridge.

This is definitely a keeper... so much easier to make as compared to my Spongy Banana cake recipe, yet yields an equally nice banana cake!

Banana Oreo Muffins

Moist and flavourful muffin with Banana & Oreo who can resist! Thanks Florence of Do What I Like for sharing this recipe.

The muffin remains moist even on the 2nd day.

Chocolate-Bottom Banana Square

By now, you may have seen many bloggers baked this delicious cake. Yes I'm joining the craze too. This is a simple and delicious recipe and I had made twice already. Everyone who I shared this cake with gave a thumb up! Definitely a keeper! Thanks Hearty Bakes for sharing this wonderful recipe. I twisted a bit by adding walnut and the next time I will omit the chocolate to turn it to a Banana Walnut Square. I think it will be very nice too as the cake was soft and moist.

85 Fengshan Food Centre

30 Mar 2011

A makan session after work with a few close colleagues at 85 Fengshan Centre. This food centre is very well known in the East side of Singapore. There are a few very famous stalls in this hawker centre like the Xing Ji Rou Cuo Mian and Chai Chee Pork Porridge.

Let's take a look at our pigging out session ...

Lemon Curb

Blogger is unbelievably down for almost a day! I'm glad is back to normal again! First thing I do when it's back to service, I did a backup! Who's know what will happen the next time...?

While preparing the ingredients for the Mango Yogurt chiffon, I carelessly dropped my mixing bowl which contained 5 egg white...!!! Wasted 5 eggs! I really hate it when this kind of accident happened. What am I supposed to do with the 5 extra egg yolks! After sending my chiffon to bake, I start sourcing for recipe to use up my extra yolks! Oh yes found it at Jane's... I can make lemon curb, for half a recipe I can nicely use up the extra yolks!

Love the zesty & refreshing flavour plus smooth texture...

Mango Yogurt Chiffon (Cooked Dough Method)

28th Mar 2011

I give a little twist to my favourite Pandan chiffon cake recipe that used cooked dough method and turned it to a Mango Yogurt chiffon cake. It came out pretty fine...so happy! The cake is very soft and moist with strong mango fragrant, very refreshing!

Restaurant Week 2011 - Infusion

Sorry for missing in action for almost a week. I am just so affected by the weather! The heat make me so lazy for everything the past few days! Anyway this is another backlog from my March's eat, manage to make a lunch reservation during Singapore Restaurant week at Infusion.

The 2nd edition of Singapore Restaurant Week was held from 21st-27th March 2011 where 82 DiningCity member restaurants offered 3 course value set meal for lunch/dinner at $25/$35 only. The last time I had missed so am glad that I went for at least one this time round. The responses were really good as most of the popular restaurants were taken when it started for reservation online on the 1st day. I didn't left with much choice when I went online to make reservation. After reading some reviews online, I decided to go for a Sunday lunch with my family at Infusion.

Restaurant Week - 3 course set lunch @ $25

Overall was a pleasant lunch. We enjoyed the starter, main course and dessert were rather average.

The Dining Room @ W.O.W Day Buffet!

23 Mar 2011

After reading Jane's post on W.O.W at The Dining Room, I was sold! This was too good to be missed. Women Only Wednesday buffet promotion, ladies get to enjoy the Wednesday buffet at half price (usual price S$58++). With a group of 6 colleagues (of course all ladies!), we made our way there on one of the Wednesday before the promotion ended in March 2011.

The spread was not very extensive but quality of the food were good enough to satisfy. Not to be missed were the roast beef and dessert section. Local hot dishes like Hokkien mee, braised duck and steamed chicken were all executed pretty well. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Some of my colleagues preferred this to Greenhouse at Ritz Carlton where we went last year also having similar promotion.

Ambiance is nice and services are good too!

Korean BBQ @ City Square

20 Mar 2011

A new Korean BBQ restaurant at City Square. Highly influenced by me, now my family love Korean food too. Whenever I mentioned there's newly opened Korean restaurant, they are usually very keen to try. So we went to check out this new joint on our regular Sunday dinner outing.

The restaurant served Ala Carte Buffet too but we decided to just order from the menu. Most young diners will opt for the buffet.  I find it quite value for money if you are meat lover! Overall the food was just average and not very impressive but to compare with Seoul Garden and Crystal Jade Korean BBQ, this is a better choice for Korean BBQ buffet as the food is more authentic.

Banchan (8 side dishes)

Pretty ordinary, nothing stand out!

Japanese Curry Sloppy Joe

20 Mar 2011

When I saw this recipe over at Happy Home Baking, I knew I will be making it soon. True enough I cooked this few days later. I never try the real sloppy joe before but I do like this one very much with a Japanese twist! For those who like Japanese curry sauce, you will definitely heart this! I cooked the pork version as my aunt don't take beef. This sauce is good for baked pasta too!

Honeymoon Dessert

18 Mar 2011

We did some window shopping around 313 @ Somerset after dinner at Ootoya. Both of us were not in the mood for shopping so decided to have some dessert instead. We went to Honeymoon Dessert. A dessert cafe chain originated from Hong Kong.

Red Bean Soup with Grass Jelly & Green Tea Ice Cream

Quite weird combination but I like it though a bit too sweet.

Ootoya @ Orchard Central

18 Mar 2011

I finally get to try Ootoya with Hwee on a weekday dinner date and we were so lucky to get a table without queuing at 6.30pm. Ootoya serving authentic and affordable home cooked style Japanese food. This restaurant is very much raved about since it opened it's 1st Singapore branch in Orchard Central. Yes the food is good, indeed very comfortingly good! I even love the plain Japanese rice, the texture was so good and really taste liked what I had in Japan...!

Mimoza Salad - S$7.00++

We shared a salad for the starter. Very fresh and appetising!

Todai International Seafood and Sushi Buffet Restaurant - A Pictorial

16 Mar 2011

Todai is now in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands. Read lots of rave reviews on them so suggested to celebrate Aunt Peggy's birthday there. The spread is pretty impressive except that most of the buffet plates were sparsely filled probably due to the small crowd on weekdays. Another disappointment was oyster was not served on weekdays. Still we had an enjoyable evening dining at Todai. I will want to come back again on a weekend.
